Physiotherapy FAQs
If you were hurt or injured in an accident and your injury is accepted by ACC, then you will be eligible for partially funded Physiotherapy treatment. We can look after all of this for you.
As we are ACC registered, you can come straight to us to register your injury and we can help you manage the ACC process.
Physiotherapists are qualified and experienced in the examination, evaluation, and diagnosis of a variety of conditions. Once diagnosed, Physiotherapists then use their knowledge to create a tailored treatment plan of action helping treat health problems, pain and injuries related to an accident, disability, or chronic illness.
It is best to wear clothing that you feel comfortable in and that ensures the injured/treatment area is easily accessible.
It is a good idea to arrive 10mins early to your initial appointment so you can fill in the required paperwork before your treatment starts. This may also require an ACC form to be filled out as well.
At your first appointment, your Physiotherapist will discuss your injury with you to gain an understanding of what happened and what you are feeling/experiencing. Your Physiotherapist will fully assess your injury and will create a treatment plan to help you recover. Your first appointment is a longer session as the assessment, identification and development of the treatment plan takes time.
Once your Physiotherapist has completed their assessment, they will go through the findings with you and discuss your goals and the best treatment options. They will also provide you with some initial treatment/s to help manage and reduce the pain.
This will be determined at your initial appointment once we have identified the injury, worked out your treatment plan and once we see how you respond to the first treatment as well.
